Water, sunlight, and warmth are essential to life. People require frequent exposure to natural sunlight in order to produce Vitamin D, an essential vitamin needed for growth, and to develop healthy bones and teeth. In recent decades, however, sunlight has also been implicated as a cause of some types of skin cancer.

 

Measles-This is a viral infection and is a very common disease in United States. Now a day this is getting less common as with the uses of vaccination. An easy way to find out what type of skin you have is to cleanse your face, wait for an hour and then take a tissue and wipe your forehead, nose, cheeks and chin. If the tissue picks up oily residue from all these areas, you have oily skin; if it picks up oil only from the forehead, nose and chin (T-zone), you have combination skin; if it picks up dry, flaky skin, you have dry skin; and if you do not find oil or flakes, you have normal skin

 

Skin diseases can manifest in a variety of ways, and vary from mild to severe cases. Some of the skin infections that a person can acquire are due to pollution and other factors, and can result in acne. Acne results from too much sebum production and tends to affect the sufferer’s face, chest and back areas. Acne is a major skin problem that millions of people continue to endure and for which they need an effective remedy.

 

The second type, one that is more serious than basal cell carcinoma, is squamous cell carcinoma. This slow-growing cancer is not as inert as basal cell carcinoma, meaning that, if left untreated, it can spread to other parts of the body. Yet, though there are risks involved, squamous cell carcinoma is one of the easier skin cancers to treat, often requiring a simple removal via liquid nitrogen blast or hot knife incision. Though, in some cases, larger or more invasive attacks by this type of skin cancer may require more serious surgical procedures.

 

The best way to do this is to learn how to do a complete skin self-examination. To do this, you need a full-length mirror, a hand mirror, and a place where you can use them in privacy. Stand in front of the full-length mirror and look carefully at the skin on every part of your body that you can see. Get to know your moles, marks, and other skin irregularities. Then, use the hand mirror to help you look at the places on your body that you can’t see with just one mirror. Again, take note of any marks that you see

Hair is a remarkably tough material but over time abuse can wreak havoc with its natural properties. The hair becomes weakened, loses its elasticity and shine and becomes dull, brittle and eventually breaks. Hair is composed primarily of proteins (88%). These proteins are of a hard fibrous type known as keratin. Keratin protein is comprised of what we call “polypeptide chains”. Hair normally has a moisture content of approximately 10%. Dry hair is hair that does not have enough moisture and oil to maintain its normal sheen and texture. Dry hair may result from too much washing, harsh detergents, a dry environment, inadequate diet, or underlying conditions, such as those due to malnutrition.

 

People on low-fat diets might not be getting enough oils in their bodies – and if that’s so, then their scalps and hair might be deprived. But of course, you don’t want to add a lot of heart-hurting, fat-producing oils to your diet just to improve your hair. Supplement a low-fat diet with some heart-healthy olive oil per day. Try incorporating the oil into a salad dressing, or drizzle it over bread.

 

Hair normally has a moisture content of approximately 10%. If your hair’s moisture content drops below this level the key is to increase the hair’s ability of attract and retain moisture. This is accomplished by using moisturizers. Good one have “humectants” that not only replace lost moisture but actually attract moisture and retain it in the cortex of the hair. Essential fatty aids (EFA’s) are great moisturizers. t. The primary causes of dry hair can be narrowed down to two incidents: One, lack of sebaceous gland production - sebum oils produced by skin glands or two, over-styling and heat damage. Sebaceous glands produce hair oils - sebum - and are associated with all glands of the skin, including the scalp.

 

Beat an egg in a cup of skimmed milk. When the foam becomes consistent, rub it into the scalp. Leave it on for 5 minutes. Rinse the hair thoroughly with water. Carry out this routine twice a week . 2. Take a cup of coconut milk and add two tablespoons of gram flour or one teaspoon of shikakai. Apply on your scalp and hair and massage gently. Rinse it out after five minutes. Follow this recipe at least once a week.

A hiccup is a muscle spasm of the diaphram muscle, which seperates the lungs from your stomach. The muscle goes into a spasm and forces the air out of the lungs, creating a hiccup. The best way to stop the spasm is to totally relax your body. Take a deep inhale, hold it for a few seconds and blow out slowly. Ideally, if you can have someone stand behind you, placing their hands on your midsection and hold down the muscle while you do this, it works a lot faster. If the first time it doesn’t work, try again.

 

It is thought that a number of specific nerves in the spinal cord at the back of the neck control hiccups. When something triggers these nerves - eating too quickly, for example - a signal is sent to the phrenic nerve, which controls the diaphragm. The diaphragm signals back to the hiccup center and hiccups begin. Within a split second, a structure called the glottis closes off the windpipe, producing the characteristic sound of a hiccup.

 

Mild hiccups are a reaction to hot and spicy foods or too much alcohol. They may be caused by psychological or organic causes. Disease conditions that affect the kidney, chest, abdomen or heart can cause hiccups. The diaphragm may contract by stimulation either by impulses from the brain or by irritation anywhere along the vagus nerve. The vagus sends a signal to the phrenic nerve that sends the nerve impulse to the diaphragm. The diaphragm then goes into a sharp contraction causing the hiccup.

 

The first two categories may prove effective for many short lived and minor cases of hiccups. For instance, with an assistant applying pressure to one’s ears, drinking any quantity of liquid whilst holding one’s nose is a common home remedy for hiccups. However, those suffering from an intractable case may become desperate sorting through various ineffective home remedies. Many of the cures centered around controlled breathing (i.e. holding breath) are often ineffective for prolonged hiccups crises, but do have a significant efficacy for the most casual, short lasting cases.

 

Eighty-two percent of persistent or intractable episodes occur in men. An organic cause can be identified in 93% of men and in 8% of women, resulting in an overall organic incidence of 80%. The remaining 20% are considered psychogenic in origin.Eating spicy food. Spicy food may cause irritation to the nerves that control normal contractions of your diaphragm.

 

In 2 cups of water boil 5-6 crushed green cardamoms. Boil it till reduces to 1 cup. Allow it cool down and strain it. Drink it slowly when still lukewarm. This is highly beneficial natural remedy for hiccups as it soothes the irritation in diaphragms.

 

Hiccups are also part of the body’s defense system. If you swallow a large piece of meat or drink plenty of fluids, the glottis (the opening from the mouth to the throat) automatically closes to prevent food from getting into the wind¬pipe. At the same time, the diaphragm forces the food upward by contracting its muscles. When the danger has passed, the nerves of the diaphragm and glottis relax. If they don’t, a person has hiccups.
